Scene Synopsis - IT WAS NOTHING

GRAB:
Matthew catches his girlfriend, Jessica, doing drugs with, and kissing, his rival Brian Davis, at the end of high school party. She tries to convince him that it was nothing.

SYNOPSIS:
It's the end of high school, and everyone's inside at the party. Matthew storms out of the house, followed by his girlfriend, Jessica, her hair, make up and clothing in a state of disarray.

Matthew is furious and shocked; he's just walked in on Jessica doing drugs and kissing his long time rival with her jeans undone - and she was obviously enjoying it.

Jessica follows Matthew. She's stoned, and feels sick, and he's caught between wanting to walk off without talking to her, and wanting to look after her. She desperately tries to convince Matthew that it was nothing, and that she loves him, and they are still going ahead with their plans for their future together after school.

They each throw some hard-to-hear truths at each other, with Jessica all the time thinking Matthew will calm down and everything will go back to normal. But he can't ever forget the 'happy snap' he's just stumbled on.

When Jessica pukes from all the drugs, Matthew gets her some water and waits until he's sure she's ok. But then, with her pleading until the end, he leaves her.
