There is music and laughter coming from inside. MATTHEW storms out and slams the door. He's absolutely furious, and takes his keys out of his pocket. He is slightly drunk. JESSICA races out after him. She looks dishevelled, and her hair is a mess. But somehow we think her hair might always be a mess. Her lipstick is definitely smudged off her lips onto her face. She is very stoned. She slips as she calls out, but gets up quickly and keeps running to him. JESSICA: (calling desperately) Matt! Matty, c'mon babe! MATTHEW turns back, so angry it scares her. MATTHEW: How could you DO that? How could you fuckin' DO that - and with him JESSICA: It was just a kiss. Nothing happened. We were just - She tries to grab hold of MATTHEW's arm. He pulls away. MATTHEW: A kiss isn't "nothing", Jess. Especially not with Brian "captain of the athletics team" Davis. JESSICA is desperate to fix this. JESSICA: Matthew, listen to me - please just - just let me explain - MATTHEW: Don't you know he's fucked every girl in school? You wouldn't be anything special to him. He immediately regrets what he's just said, but is too angry to admit it. MATTHEW: (letting go of her arm) Go inside and finish whatever I interrupted. I'm going home.
