AMY AND TRISH'S FLAT - MORNING
The flat has unwrapped gifts and flowers everywhere. There's a little kitchenette with the necessary kettle and cups etc. There's a couch on which sits many of the gifts and cards. There's a huge bunch of flowers in a vase, or maybe still in its wrapping. There are glasses and bottles everywhere, and left over food from a party last night. TRISH, somewhat hungover, is sprawled on the floor midst the mess. She's in her PJ's or tracksuit. She calls out. TRISH: Coffee? AMY: (O/S, enthusiastically) Yes pleeeeese! TRISH: I'll have one too, while you're at it. AMY: (O/S) Very funny. TRISH groans at the effort of getting up from the floor. She rolls onto one side: TRISH: (to floor) Hello, floor. She pushes her way up to all fours. Tries to stand up, but realises it's just too hard. She walks on all fours to the kitchen.She gets to the kitchen bench and looks up helplessly. TRISH: (to kettle) Hello, kettle. Can you fill yourself with water, plug yourself in and turn yourself on? She finds this very amusing and laughs at her wit. TRISH: (to kettle) Cos if you don't ... (she looks at the couch) ... Amy has 25 brand new versions of you just waiting to break out of their boxes! She looks at the toaster which apparently is chuckling. TRISH: (to toaster - reprimands) And don't you laugh too loud Mr Toaster ... she has several new, improved versions of you too - and some of them are FOUR slice! AMY: (V/O) Stop talking to the appliances and make the coffee. TRISH: (to kettle) Ready or not here I come. She stands up groggily, takes the kettle to the sink, fills it, and puts it on. She then looks for the coffee. TRISH: (calling to Amy) Amy! Are we out of coff - But she stops as AMY arrives. She's dressed in her wedding dress (which is white, but very simple) and veil ... and huge, fluffy slippers. TRISH: Oh, Amy, you look - AMY smiles expectantly. TRISH: - you look - AMY: Really? TRISH: Yeah - you look hung over - and yet strangely fetching from the ankles down. AMY displays her fluffy slippers, then lifts up her dress to reveal she's still in her PJ's. TRISH: Ah well, you see, NOW the outfit is complete. END OF FIRST PAGE |
